What you will need to apply for a teaching job through anzuk*

As holders of the UK Quality Mark accreditation all teachers registering for work with anzuk* will be required to collect and submit various documents as supporting evidence of their teaching status. Included in this are the documents below:-   

Teaching Qualifications

The Department for Education (DfE) in the UK requires that teachers who qualified overseas possess a minimum qualification of of Education.

From Australia:

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Diploma of Education (Dip.Ed), Diploma of Teaching (Dip.Teach), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) or any other degree such as B.Physed and B.Mus as long as they have Dip.Ed or Dip.Teach Graduate Diploma in Education (GradDip.Ed).

From New Zealand:

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Diploma of Teaching (Dip.Teach) (Formerly Cert Ed), Bachelor of Teaching (B.Teach), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) plus DipEd or DipTeach.

From the UK:

PGCE Post Graduate Certificate in Education, or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Referee Details

As a registered teacher with anzuk* we will require you submit and agree to us contacting your referee's to endorse your teaching practice. For this reason we prefer you provide details of referee's that have closely watched you teaching. Yes please; supervisory or headteacher class referee's. You will thank us for it in the end. 

ANZUK Template CV

All teachers must submit an up to date CV that has been entered onto an anzuk* CV template. This CV template is clear, concise and usually to the point that is requested by Head teachers looking for staff. 

National Insurance (NI) Number

Your UK National Insurance number is the Australia equivalent of your Tax File number. All teachers will be required by Her Majesty Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to apply for an NI Number when they arrive in the UK. ANZUK will be able to guide you through this process when you have your registration interview. 

CRB and Overseas Police Checks

To be eligible to teach in the UK you will need to be in possession of a valid state or federal police check that is no older than 6 months (if you are from or have worked overseas) When you arrive in the UK your employer will also require you to have a completed CRB check (the UK equivalent to our Police Check). We will get this applied well before you arrive if this is your first time in the UK. For UK citizens you will have to agree or provide portability of an up to date check that has recently been completed
