Strategies for Teachers

We can help by suggesting teachers strategies before you undertake work in a UK school.

Don’t get worried about the education system in the early stages of placement. Most schools will explain how things work as you go. If you become confused about what you are or should be doing, all you need to do is ask your subject line manager. Always be aware of the Key Stage you are teaching for each year level; this will help you to maintain a professional standard by teaching to National Curriculum guidelines. Schemes of Work are the equivalent to our Unit Outlines. When a teacher is absent for a long period of time or when you are in a long term position, most schools will provide you with the relevant Schemes of Work which will make it very easy to prepare lessons and assess your students. It is not unusual for schools to be in this position; therefore, most of them are usually prepared for short and long term replacement teachers.

All ANZUK Teachers have a responsibility to maintain an appropriate professional standard. This will include adhering to a Dress Code, Education Ethos, Health and Safety Regulations, Punctuality Codes and Behaviour Policy. Before you undertake any assignment you must make contact with a school representative so that you can be briefed on standards because these change depending on the school you are teaching at. If for any reason you are late or cannot make a teaching appointment please contact us immediately so that we can make alternative arrangements.
